Jaime King has revealed that the criticism levelled at Kim Kardashian following her 2013 Met Gala appearance upset her deeply. The model, who is pregnant with her second child, admitted that she "couldn't stop crying" after seeing the comments a then-pregnant Kim received for her look – a custom-made floral maternity gown designed by Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci.

Jaime was shocked at the criticism Kim received for her look

"I remember going back into my hotel room and crying for like five hours because I kept seeing all these things come up online, all of these horrible pictures and GIFs," Jaime told Elle. "Here was this beautiful glowing pregnant woman who is probably so excited to be attending the Met Ball for the first time with the man that she loved... And she has a beautiful growing child inside of her, and yet everybody bashed her and called her a whale or said she looked like a couch or drapes."

She added: "It was so stunning to me that people thought that was okay – not only okay but they condoned it." In an attempt to combat the negativity, last week Jaime uploaded an unretouched Instagram picture of herself wearing just her underwear. The caption read: "My body. My growing baby, open for comments. Plain as day. I, like every other woman, bracing for your judgements. This is who I am. And I love me in every flaw and curve or flat or thin area. And I love you as well in every form that your body takes." Kim recently opened up on the Met Gala furore. "I had these gloves and this whole floral print and I loved it," she said. "I thought it was so cool and it got a lot of criticism and I didn't care because I really loved it."
