Beyoncé wowed as she posed in an emerald green Gucci gown with her daughter Blue Ivy for the premiere of Beauty and the Beast this weekend. However she is not the first famous face to wear the design. Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o wore the vibrant embroidered dress at Cannes Film Festival in 2015, creating a similarly striking red carpet style moment.

STORY: Beyonce and Blue Ivy twin in Gucci

Nearly two years on, Beyoncé put her own spin on the look and proved it made the perfect maternity dress, with the pleated skirt skimming over her blossoming baby bump. While Lupita styled the gown with an updo and dazzling drop earrings, Beyoncé wore her hair down in loose curls and added stone hoop earrings to complete the look.

Both women looked incredible in the colourful gown, although Beyoncé scored extra style points by dressing her daughter Blue Ivy, five, in a modified version of the tiered embroidered design. The stylish pair, who skipped the movie's red carpet, were also joined by Jay Z (also in Gucci) at the premiere, hosted at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles. Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, shared a sweet photo of her granddaughter admiring her musician parents on Instagram. Alongside the photo, the doting grandmother wrote, "Look at that 'Look Of Love Is In Her Eyes' for her mommy and Daddy."

Blue will soon be an older sister to two new family members. The Drunk in Love singer revealed back in February that she was expecting twins. Beyoncé announced the exciting news with a photo of herself wearing lingerie, while cradling her baby bump, which she captioned, "We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters."

The Lemonade artist had previously spoken out about her desire to have more children. "I think my daughter needs some company," Beyoncé told ABC News in 2013. That same year in her HBO documentary Life Is But a Dream, she shared, "Being pregnant was very much like falling in love," adding, "You are so open. You are so overjoyed. There's no words that can express having a baby growing inside of you, so of course you want to scream it out and tell everyone."
