Blake Lively stood out from the crowd on Monday evening when she attended the American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala in New York in an eye-catching neon yellow gown. The Oscar de la Renta number featured a form-fitting bodice, drawing attention to her enviable waistline, a gathered thigh-high slit and a delicate train. The sleeveless design was paired with metallic silver leg-lengthening heels. When it came to accessories, she chose an assortment of colourful rings and a pair of turquoise statement earrings.

In terms of make-up, Blake embraced her natural beauty, adding a touch of liner and black mascara to highlight her large blue eyes, while a glowy base and swipe of rose-hued blush enhanced her already flawless complexion. A pillar-box red lip completed her ultra-cool look.

Blake’s experimental, yet sophisticated sense of style was highlighted yet again last month, when she attended the Time 100 Gala in New York. Stepping out onto the red carpet with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, the 29-year-old looked sensational in a Marchesa gown, which featured an intricate lace design, and was embellished with colourful tassels and delicate floral embroidery.

The number, which also boasted a plunging neckline and a semi-sheer sleeves, highlighted the Hollywood beauty's toned curves perfectly.

The Gossip Girl actress, who often featured on the best-dressed lists, has a refreshingly down-to-earth approach when it comes to fashion, and previously revealed that she doesn’t work with a stylist for her red carpet appearances.

When asked by People and Entertainment Weekly editorial director Jess Cagle if she does her own styling, she replied: "I do, but I don't understand why people make a fuss over that. Everybody in the whole world does all their own styling. They wake up in the morning and put their own clothes on themselves. It's not that different."

Adding, she said: "It's fun to dress up in a big sparkly number and a Cinderella-looking dress. I came home to my baby and she was like 'Wow'. You know, because you just look like a Disney movie. It's fun to get to do that. Because when you're a little girl you play dress-up, and now I get to do it in big-girl life too."
