If you're child's name is George or Georgina, you are in luck! In honour of Prince George starting school in September, leading UK footwear retailer Wynsors is offering a 10% discount to the lucky children who share the same name, or its female equivalent, as the young prince, by presenting a proof of identity at the checkout. The idea came about following a royal visit from Prince George, who is set to start school at St Thomas's in Battersea next month, and his mum, the Duchess of Cambridge, who dropped in to the Wigan branch to search for the perfect pair of shoes.

And it sounds as if at the tender age of four, Prince George already knows exactly what he wants! Susan Woolley, store manager at Wynsors Wigan revealed: "Their royal highnesses were very friendly, although George definitely knew his own mind when it came to selecting the shoes he wanted to try. Kate was even able to indulge in some shoes shopping of her own.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our royal visit and we’re more than happy to help out any other members of the Windsor family who fancy trying our great range of shoes. Who knows, they may even like them enough to change Windsor to Wynsor!"

Talking about why the Duchess chose to visit their store, Susan concluded: "As experts in children’s shoes who are known for fantastic value, we weren’t surprised that the famously thrifty Kate was attracted to the shoes we have on offer. What was surprising was her strolling in with Prince George ahead of his first day at school to check out the shoes in person."

Wynsors have 44 stores up and down the country, located in locations including Bradford, Doncaster, Hull, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Stockport. Along with stocking shoes, the shop also sells handy back to school accessories including lunch bags, rucksacks and pencil cases.
