Fashion stars stepped out in force for the premiere of Zac Posen's new documentary. The American designer has unveiled House of Z, a movie by filmmaker Sandy Chronopoulos, which chronicles his rise to fame and gives a behind the scenes glimpse into his company.

House of Z was screened at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City on Thursday, the first day of New York Fashion Week, and Posen's longtime pals were all in attendance.

His Project Runway colleague Heidi Klum stood out in a green velvet dress and thigh-high boots, while his muse Coco Rocha opted for one of the designer's floral gowns.

Kate Upton, who stars alongside Barbara Fialho in Posen's spring/summer 2018 lookbook, wore a black dress with lily motif embroidered on the top from the new collection.

Cindy Bruna ramped up the glamour in a strapless black minidress, while Sailor Brinkley-Cook, the 19-year-old daughter of Christie Brinkley, proved her style credentials in a blue printed dress which she accessorised with a black choker necklace. Model Anne V added a splash of colour to proceedings by stepping out in a vibrant orange silk dress, with U.S. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour also standing out in a bright floral-print dress and her signature black sunglasses.

Actress Katie Holmes made a style statement at the star-studded event, and chose an olive green dress with deep-V neckline from Posen's collection to wear.

Meanwhile, Posen shared that he was looking forward to showing his friends the film, but was still a little nervous about some of the personal content.

"It's touchy subjects. It's dealing with business, creativity, conflict, but if I hadn't gone through this experience, I wouldn't be where I am today with my company. It was humbling. I think it made me a better creator and a better person," he told WWD at the premiere, adding jokingly, "I still wish Glenn Close was in the movie."
