A selection of 500 original Gianni Versace creations have gone on sale to mark the 20th anniversary of the designer's tragic death. Gianni's designer sister Donatella Versace staged a special catwalk show to honour her brother during Milan Fashion Week last month, and now Farfetch is also paying tribute to the style star, who died in 1997 at the age of 50 after being shot killer Andrew Cunanan on the steps of his Miami home.

The e-tailer has teamed with London-based William Vintage on the archive collection, which includes pieces from the Andy Warhol-inspired Pop collection and the risque Bondage line, all designed by Gianni himself.

"Gianni Versace was about pure, unadulterated glamour and his collections were always joyful," William Vintage's founder William Banks-Blaney said in a statement. "Within that exuberance was a designer with an eye for precision and superb tailoring and who above all else loved women. From the Pop collection of 1991 to the 1992 S&M and to the Punk of 1994, he changed the perception of fashion, of runway shows and created the idea of the supermodel; the confident, unapologetic and unashamedly feminine woman."

Vintage Versace fans can also pick up accessories, shoes, and bags on the website.

Farfetch buying and merchandising director Candice Fragis shared her excitement at the curated collection too.

"As we continue to cultivate a selection of the world's very best timeless and unique luxury pieces, we are so excited to partner with a vintage brand as prolific as William Vintage," she enthused. "The collection perfectly represents the iconic years of the brand with Gianni Versace at its helm."
