Summer dressing brings with it all kinds of unique problems – how to hide tanlines, whether to shave, wax or go au natural, and how to avoid the dreaded sunburn, for starters. And for those of us who don't possess a thigh gap – which is most of us – there's another, uncomfortable one to add to the mix – how to avoid thigh rub. Because when our legs aren't hidden away in tights, the heat and sweat can bring about uncomfortable, sometimes painful chafing and rashes.

The bands are designed to be worn under skirts and dresses

But if this ailment is one you suffer with, then we've got some great news. Online retailer Pretty Little Thing has launched a range of thigh bands to combat the problem, and we reckon they're going to become summer essentials. The fashion retailer claims that the bands, which are designed to be worn under summer dresses, will make the warmer months much more comfortable for a large number of women. The text on the website reads: "Put your chafing days behind you and make these bands your saviour. Featuring one pair of black bands, style these under any look for extra support and a ton of comfort."

A pair of the bands cost £8 each. The genius product caused a sensation as soon as it was announced, and sold out online in just under 48 hours. However, they will be back in stock soon. PrettyLittleThing's Amy Simon, who is the Senior Influencer and PR manager for the brand, told HELLO!: "Customers have been going wild for them, telling us they're the new summer essential."

Amy tells HELLO! that the product WILL return and you'll only have to wait another two weeks. They were so popular, they're bringing them back as soon as possible! "The reaction has been amazing," she confirmed. While you wait for this wonder product to come back into stock you can also buy special gels to stop thigh rub, or a bit of Vaseline does the trick too.
