Ivanka Trump is to close her fashion line, it has been announced. The daughter of President Trump revealed the news on Wednesday, 17 months after starting her role as Senior Advisor to her father at the White House. Ivanka started the company back in 2007, first selling jewellery then branching out into clothing, shoes, accessories, and homeware. The move will come as a surprise to the fashion world, as her label was successful and estimated to be worth $100 million (£76m). However, the company is said to have experienced difficulties since President Trump's election with boycotts from customers.

Ivanka, who is married to property developer Jared Kushner with whom she shares three children, said: "When we first started this brand, no one could have predicted the success that we would achieve. After 17 months in Washington, I do not know when or if I will ever return to the business, but I do know that my focus for the foreseeable future will be the work I am doing here in Washington, so making this decision now is the only fair outcome for my team and partners.”
