Who can forget the hysteria surrounding Topshop's Monochrome Spot Pinafore Dress? Nope, we definitely can't. In fact, neither can you – the black and white £49 dress has been worn by everyone from the likes of Bake Off winner Candice Brown and Holly Willoughby's go-to stylist from Angie Smith. Super blogger Erica Davies from The Edited also helped turn the dress in to phenomenal success, so much so that shoppers were even re-selling the design for over £200 on eBay. The slinky number predictably flew off the rails and left us fashion fans extremely perplexed. But never fear – the dress has had a revamp, ready for the summer and we are confident it's going to be the next best thing. It still features the V-neck front and skimpy, ruffled neckline, but is now made in a bold, 80s style floral print in blue, yellow and fuchsia pink. It has a distinctive vintage feel and would look incredible with a pair of terracotta wedges, a raffia bag and maybe even a pair of gold hoop earrings. Fans on Instagram are already on the case – so don't be hasty if you want to invest!

Our favourite dress has been revamped for summer

The original design was restocked a whopping four times this year, selling out in record time on each occasion. It was quickly recreated in a reverse colourway (white background with black spots) which also sold out. Then came the same number but in an eye-catching cobalt blue that came complete with embossed stripes etched on the fabric.

£55, Topshop

Another dress from the high street mecca that caused a stir was the Spot Maxi dress which retailed at the slightly pricier cost of £125.

The white-hued number is emblazoned with eye-catching red polka dots and boasts an asymmetrical neckline, ruffle detail at the hip and is a dead ringer for the Self Portrait spotted l top that influencers and bloggers were seen rocking.

The dress is still available online but is listed as a 'Trending' item on Topshop’s site, meaning it is a highly sought after number, which we have to confess, makes us want it even more…
