For the past eight weeks we have been obsessed with Dani and Jack's Love Island romance, Laura’s sassiness, Megan’s femme fatale makeover and of course, Wes’s Do Bits Society, but have we been heavily influenced by the Love Islanders and their style? Apparently so.

Lyst, the global fashion search platform which is used by 70 million people a year, has crunched the numbers and identified the sales patterns online since the show began.

To compile the report, Lyst looked at Google searches for the exact match outfits seen on the contestants, as well as the spikes in demand for certain products. Be warned, you might be surprised with the results...

1 Thong swimwear

Oh god, really? According to the fashion data, searches for thong bikinis and thong swimsuits increased by 68 per cent in the past two months and searches for thong swimwear are up by 41 per cent year on year. Any Love Island fan will know thong swimsuits were a main look on the show and could be seen on the likes of Georgia Steel, Laura Anderson and Megan Barton Hanson.

2 Co-Ords

Ok, this is something we can get onboard with - you can’t beat a stylish two-piece. Dani Dyer was the biggest fan of the co-ord and searches for them have increased by 120 per cent. Dani favoured denim co-ords and searches for those have increased 215 per cent in the past eight weeks and are most popular in Liverpool, followed by Manchester and then London.

3 Tassel earrings

Kaz Crossley loved her tassel earrings - as did Laura Anderson! Since the start of the ITV2 show, tassel earrings have been searched for more than 20,000 times from the UK. Following tassel earrings, ‘big hoop earrings’ are the second most wanted - and you’ve got Megan to thank for that micro trend.

4 Crochet

Beach throw overs can be tricky, just ask the Islanders! The girls loved their chic little crochet numbers and apparently so did you. Since the show started, searches for crochet items increased by 42 per cent.

5 Orange

Whoever said orange was the new pink was, um, actually correct. Yep, farewell millennial pink and Gen X yellow because orange is the new shade du jour. As seen on Dani Dyer, Grace Wardle (remember her?) and Samira Mighty, orange is having a moment. Plus, who can forget Kaz Crossley’s date night dress? Search is up by 46 per cent, and it’s not just ladies wear - men are searching for orange items, as well.

6 Silky PJ sets

Comfy PJs are out, slinky PJ sets are IN. Spotted on the likes of Georgia Steel, Kaz Crossley, Laura Anderson and Zara Holland, searches have risen 40 per cent for the bedroom attire. The most wanted styles are striped and printed sets by Missguided, ASOS and New Look.

7 Leopard print

Who doesn’t love leopard print? Currently the most in demand leopard print items are skirts, followed by bikinis and fans of the show were influenced by Laura Anderson’s love of the print, as well as Samira Mighty, Megan Baron Hanson and of course the queen of strutting Rosie Williams.

8 Hawaiian shirts

Yes, the boys have started a major fashion craze for Hawaiian shirts! As seen on Alex George, winner Jack Fincham, Sam Bird and Jack Fowlwer, the bright floral fashion item is on the rise with a 55 per cent spike. Nice one, lads.
