Naomi credits new-found calm on yoga

As a serene and smiling Naomi Campbell prepares to perform community service, the catwalk queen puts her newly found contentment down to taking up yoga to curb her feisty temper.

"It's part of recovery," she said in an interview with a New York newspaper. "I'm trying to stay at a peaceful place inside."

And the London-born beauty's relaxation techniques certainly seem to be working. The 36-year-old supermodel, who will soon be mopping floors in New York after pleading guilty to throwing her mobile at her maid, reacted calmly recently when her flight from Madrid to the United States was delayed, impressing onlookers with her composure and polite manner. Her new-found tranquility was also noted by photographers, who received a warm smile from the fashion icon as she left an anger management class in the Big Apple.

"I loved the class," Naomi enthused. "The teacher was great. I love to learn, to learn new things - and I did... I learned I just have to step away from the situation."

The statuesque catwalk star has even taken a refreshingly down-to-earth approach to her forthcoming community service, accepting her punishment and saying she is no stranger to cleaning. "I'm from a Caribbean family," she explains. "My grandmother raised us. I had to wash my underwear and my socks after school. I had to clean the table. I had to hoover."
