Stella's new sports line break-dances into Hong Kong

In a scene reminiscent of MTV, a breakdancer drew gasps from the crowd as he spun around on top of a car outside a Hong Kong club this week. The action wasn't for a music video, however, but the kick-off of a party to present the autumn/winter collection of Stella McCartney's collaboration with sportswear company Adidas.

Sir Paul's designer daughter was in the former British colony to present the preview of the line, which features a range of dance-inspired footwear and sports gear - a theme reflected in the car-roof choreography. The collection is due to hit shelves in the UK this summer.

Stella, who was also launching her new organic skincare line Care in Hong Kong, has been designing for Adidas since February 2005, focusing on a different sports-related theme for each season. It's just one of several joint ventures the 35-year-old London-born designer has undertaken of late.

Despite her success as a designer, Stella admits she still finds it hard to know what to say when people try on her clothes at presentations. "I always feel a little bit uncomfortable when they put something on, and I say: 'That looks great on you'," she says. "I always feel like they think I'm lying just to sell a jacket, which I'm so not doing."
