Model Kate set on branching out with new business roles

Up until now the Kate Moss story has had several well-known chapters: Kate the teen sensation, Kate the global fashion icon and, most recently, Kate the headline maker. Now the world's most recognisable model is determined the next episode will be Kate the entrepreneur.

Having ended her relationship with troubled musician Pete Doherty, the Croydon-born cover girl has been clearing the way for an image transformation by quietly dropping the message that a slew of new projects, rather than her personal life, should take centre stage. "I don't see myself as celebrity. I just do my job," declared the 33-year-old beauty in a recent interview. "I see celebrity as doing the red carpet - I don't do that."

Building on the runaway success of her collection for Topshop, the model is to unveil an eponymous fragrance in September, with plans for a haircare range also in the pipeline.

Like fellow model-turned-designer Elle Macpherson Kate is adamant she's involved in the nitty gritty of producing and marketing the products carrying her name. "I like to know how many units are sold," she reveals. "It's a learning curve, but it's something I'm loving."
