RACHEL AND IVANKA SPREAD A LITTLE SUNSHINE WITH SEASON'S HOT HUE

With their glamorous good looks and star status, Rachel Weisz and Ivanka Trump automatically light up a room. So the duo must have dazzled fellow guests at an exclusive New York bash for tennis ace Roger Federer recently when they both turned up in vibrant yellow dresses.

One of the season's key colours, yellow was a bold choice for award-winning Rachel and Donald Trump's model daughter, both of whom carried off their shift dresses - in canary yellow and zesty lemon respectively - with suitable aplomb.

They aren't the only ones making the most of the trend before the arrival of autumn. Japan's Empress Michiko, who like the British monarch is unafraid of making bright sartorial statements, was also in sunny mood as she attended the opening of the World Athletics Championships in Osaka. The ever-elegant matriarch stepped out in a crisply tailored skirt suit with unusual colouring - graduating from white to a rich gold hue at the hem - and a dainty hat which reflected the colour scheme.
