Celeb favourite Carolina presents romantic bridal gowns

25 OCTOBER 2007

The woman who once dressed Jackie Onassis and is Renee Zellweger's favourite designer, introduced her latest bridal designs this week and showed she still has the golden touch when it comes to the best in aisle style. Venezuela-born Carolina Herrera, 68, invited cameras into her New York atelier where models showed off a series of beautifully feminine creations that are sure to be at the top of every bride-to-be's wish-list.

A key feature of the romantic collection was the traditional train which appeared on most of the gowns in varying lengths and shapes - with some requiring a cathedral-width aisle. Ribbons were also used to pretty effect as the perfect finishing touch. One scoop-necked chiffon sheath had a peach organza ribbon and rosette at the waist while another satin strapless ballgown featured trailing ribbons at the back in striped white and grey.

Silhouettes ranged from the classic impact-making ballgown, which would perhaps suit regal brides such as Autumn Kelly and Prince Joachim of Denmark's fiancée Marie Cavallier, to the flowing Grecian goddess look ideal for stylish singer Nelly Furtado or Hollywood actress Laura Linney.
