Pamela Anderson struts her stuff for Vivienne Westwood in Paris

After getting Rolling Stones wife Jo Wood on the catwalk in London last week, Vivienne Westwood went one better for her Paris ready to wear presentation. The British dame of fashion enlisted the help of Pamela Anderson in unveiling her vision for autumn/winter 2009.

As the fashion pack applauded and cheered, the former Baywatch beauty strutted her way down the runway in a series of outfits. Among them were a gothic black satin gown brightened up with squares of dusky pink fabric at the shoulders and hips. And another particularly eye catching number was an unusual hot pink toga style dress with a dramatic upward lavender tulle tutu.

Vancouver-born Pam was invited to take part in the show after being chosen by Vivienne to appear in her latest ad campaign. The two hit it off at London Fashion Week in September, and Pamela has since gone to describe the flame-haired designer as "one of my favourite people".

Volume was a key theme in this week's show, with another of the gowns on display made up of reams of white satin and pink tulle. Vivid colours were also evident, with one jacket and skirt combo exploding in a rainbow of Technicolor.

Meanwhile the option to mix and match was encouraged with asymmetric wrap dresses and tunics in sea green or greyish blue and draped tops combinable with whatever shoppers had in their wardrobes.
