In Milan, the 50-year-old Material Girl joined the makers of the £1,600 outfit, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, for dinner to celebrate another performance of her Sticky & Sweet world tour.
And joining the group was Jesus Luz, Madonna's 22-year-old model boyfriend, who is the new face of the Italian fashion label.
Meanwhile in London, Whitney launched her musical comeback - with her new album - wearing the funky knee-length number, which is the highlight of the latest D&G campaign.
A spokesperson for the fashion house couldn't say which A-lister snapped up the silhouette-skimming creation first. "It was not planned. Whitney loves Dolce & Gabbana and wears it often – as does Madonna," said the rep.
