Most of the Met Gala attendees wowed in pale ensembles, in line with the event's 'white tie' theme. But a host of stylish attendees lit up the red carpet in colourful gowns.Lupita Nyong'o turned out in a green feathered outfit from Prada that instantly divided opinion with its quirky, flapper-girl vibe.
Also embracing colour was fellow Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon, who wowed in bubblegum pink by Stella McCartney. The pint-sized actress seemed to be channelling Elle Woods, the pink-loving character from Legally Blonde that Reese shot to fame for playing.

Anne Hathaway sizzled in a scarlet Calvin Klein look that consisted of an on-trend crop top that flashed a hint of her toned midriff paired with a full-length skirt complete with a thigh-high split. Anne's look was very similar to The Spider-Man star Emma Stone, who stepped out in a pink crop top and red skirt ensemble by Thakoon.
