British beauty Cat Deeley dazzles in LA

TV personality Cat Deeley was on fine form at the Costume Designers Guild Awards on Tuesday night. The 36-year-old was dazzling in a shimmering metallic Monique Lhuillier floor-sweeping nude gown as she walked the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The figure-hugging dress showed off her physique to perfection, while her poker straight blonde locks was a departure from her usually wavy locks. Cat, who presented an award at the ceremony, was without her husband of five months Patrick Kielty, but there were plenty of A-list attendees she could mingle with instead, including actress Anne Hathaway, who turned heads in a gold Gucci minidress. Her accessories were equally dazzling, from her bejewelled gold heels to her elegant diamond bangles.

The evening was a celebration of costume drama and Les Miserables star Anne, who is nominated for the supporting actress Academy Award for her role in the blockbuster, was honoured on the night with the Best Dressed award. Accepting her trophy, Anne said: "I especially treasure the moment that happens on set when all the choices have been made, rehearsal is done, you're about to start, you look down and you believe in what you're wearing, so that way when you look up, you are gone, and it's finally the character's moment to come alive."

Also in attendance was Anne's costar Russell Crowe, who presented her with the award. Actress Lily Collins — daughter of music legend Phil — also made a style statement, in a floor-length in a dramatic monochrome dress that featured a large white bow on the back. Cat was recently spotted in LA with a bag full of clothes from an exclusive baby boutique. The designer loot could have been for any number of friends, and given that the blonde is blissfully happy with her comedian husband Patrick, whom she wed in September of last year, it makes sense that she wants to celebrate milestones in others' lives. There was no sign of her Northern Irish husband, but judging by the wide smile Cat flashed photographers, his "romantic" presence could obviously still be felt. Fans in the UK will know it was that mega-watt grin which made Cat one of the country's best-loved TV presenters, before she took her charm Stateside to become host of So You Think You Can Dance. Romance soon followed professional success when the blonde's ten-year friendship with Patrick turned into love. The presenter recently revealed how she and Patrick transitioned from friends to something much deeper.
