"Kids' fashion is playful, fun and innovative - we all believe it deserves its own dedicated platform," said Alex Theophanous, founder and CEO of alexandalexa.com. "This is why we are so proud to be supporting the very first Global Kids' Fashion Week. With this event, we aim to put children's fashion on the map worldwide. "Offering the same VIP treatment as its adult counterpart, the showcase will feature a runway, children's entertainment activities, a blogger’s lounge and a sponsored photobooth. Of course, some trendsetting celebrities are expected to make an appearance, and maybe their children perhaps will take to the catwalk.

Victoria Beckham's daughter Harper has been a keen catwalk observer as her mum's latest collection was unveiled New York and London's fashion weeks, while son Romeo has posed for Burberry's latest campaign.Plenty of other celebrity children have followed in their parents' stylish footsteps. Designer-duos Peaches Geldof and her son Astala and Gwen Stefani and her son Zuma are known for passing their stylish genes down to their kin.Now marketed as a £6.5 billion industry in 2011, children's fashion has taken a life of its own in recent years. Luxury kidswear has made itself home in Harrods, Selfridges and Liberty, who now boast the best in international childrenswear design. All profits from the event, which takes place on March 19-20, will go to Kids Company, London Kids Fashon Week’s charity partner.
