When it comes to reviving a throwback trend, no one does it quite like  Emily Ratajkowski.

Fresh off reinventing her style with a 1970s esque fringe during  New York Fashion Week the supermodel and mother of one, has made the case for another retro 'lewk' at Milan Fashion Week.

Showcasing her enviable torso and iconic street style, the model donned ultra low rise white jeans, with a printed gold chain pattern (so Italian darling.) The jeans were pulled down to reveal a black thong peeking out of the waist band, a look which was adored by tastemakers and every popstar back in the early aughts, from Britney Spears to Christina Aguilera. The 2000s became the peak era for the thongs on-show popularity, with many wearing rhinestone and embelished versions for maximum visibility.

Emily paired the look with a coped black long sleeved turtle neck, and everyone's favourite oh-so of the moment oval sunglasses. Looking every inch the supermodel, Emily teamed the ensemble with stiletto strappy black heels, adding height to her 5′ 7″ frame. Following her split from her son Sylvester's father, actor and producer Sebastian Bear-McClard, Emily has been serving some killer looks of late – micro skirts, sheer maxis and slouchy tailoring have all been high up on her agenda.

The appearance in Milan comes off the back of her turn on the London Fashion Week catwalk. The supermodel walked for Nensi Dojaka alongside a cast which included a whole host of major industry names such as Paloma Elsesser, Vittoria Ceretti, and Jill Kortleve – impressive considering Nensi only graduated from Central Saint Martins a couple of years ago.

Emily was chosen to close the show, which she did while sporting the most exquisite sheer maxi gown. The piece featured a bright crimson mesh micro bodice with frill details and pink halter straps which extended into a rich burgundy see-through skirt.
