Believe it or not, you'd be hard pressed to find a footwear style more polished than a heeled loafer. The uber-preppy slip-on shoe's glamorous heeled cousin was hugely popular in the 1990s, but don't let that put you off.

Heeled loafers are having a bit of a moment right now, and if you're not basking in a warm glow of nostalgia, or perhaps you missed the boat the first time around, you need to get involved, trust us.

We're talking thick block heels, nothing spindly in sight. The sturdy foundation on this particular style not only gives you a flattering height boost, but also means that for even the most bambi-esque heel-wearer, waltzing about should present little difficulty.

If you fancy a heeled loafer with a chunky platform, Hailey Bieber is your girl. Favouring Alexander Wang's patent 'Carter' pair, the supermodel exuded sultry chic when she wore hers with a Blumarine cut-out blazer dress and sheer hold-ups.

But Hailey certainly isn't alone in her love for the footwear trend, even Taylor Swift, who you may have thought would be over the trend by now considering how often she wore them during the 2010s, has come back for a second helping, rocking her Prada 'Flow' pair last month.

This side of the pond, the heeled loafer is getting a look among the royal ladies. Lady Amelia Windsor opted for a sky-high pastel pink Versace pair at the Italian luxury brand's spring/summer 2023 show, whereas Lady Eliza Spencer wore a glossy pair of Tod's at Milan Fashion Week.
