Leanne BayleyActress Emma Corrin will play Princess Diana on The Crown series four. But what dresses and outfits will we see her wear? We've had a look through the fashion archives…
We've all oohed and aahed over the photos of actress Emma Corrin filming scenes for series four of The Crown. The cast and crew of the hit Netflix series were photographed at London's Savoy Hotel to re-create the Princess Diana's appearance there more than 30 years ago. It's fair to say, Emma is near-identical to Diana. The photo showed her wearing a colourful 80s frock, but we're excited about what other looks she'll recreate. Here are our predictions for what to expect from series four of The Crown…
Here's Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer (later to become Princess Diana) walking through the gardens of Buckingham Palace on the day of announcing their engagement. The future Princess wore a blue ensemble. This will most certainly feature in The Crown and we're excited.
Princess Diana's wedding guest outfits
When Lady Diana Spencer attended Nicholas Soames' wedding in Westminster back in June 1981, she wore a gorgeous polka dot dress. Will this be resurrected for The Crown? We hope so.
Princess Diana's wedding dress
Ok, this is a given. Surely we're going to see the iconic Emanuel wedding dress that Princess Diana wore on her wedding day on 29 July, 1981. Bring it on.
Princess Diana's royal honeymoon dress
This was the moment the Prince and Princess of Wales left Gibraltar on the Royal Yacht Britannia for their honeymoon cruise back in 1981. The Princess wore a Donald Campbell dress - we can't help but think this would be super stylish today.
Princess Diana's Sleeping Beauty gown
Who can forget when Princess Diana had a quick nap while pregnant with Prince William? She was a guest at a 1981 gala recital evening at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and she wore a dress by Bellville Sassoon.
Princess Diana's Lindo Wing dress
Let's hope we'll see Emma wearing Princess Diana's dress when she exited the Lindo Wing after giving birth to future heir Prince William on 21 June 1982.
Later series we'll expect to see her 90s outfits; her revenge dress, the dresses she wore as a single lady, and her love of particular designers shine through.
There's no set premiere date for The Crown Season 4 just yet, but as soon as HELLO! finds out, you'll be the first to know.
Princess Diana's 'revenge' dress
We'll never get over this fabulous dress Princess Diana wore on the same night Prince Charles's TV interview was aired to the public in 1994. The designer, Christina Stambolian, revealed that the dress had actually been made for Diana three years prior to its first appearance in the spotlight. At the time, the princess had been too nervous to wear it because she claimed it was "too daring."
