With Paris Fashion Week nearly over, arguably one of the most romantic cities in the world, there was a slight shift in mood with a dark nostalgia hanging in the air. The Paris Spring/Summer 2015 catwalks were not alight with dreams of floaty fairytales and enchanted forests, but instead saw heavy construction and dense surface decoration at the likes of Givenchy, Balmain and Comme des Garcons.
saw an experimentation of fabrics and cuts, the raw leather detailing and frayed fabric scraps displayed more relaxed decorative techniques than those at Givenchy, however the choice of fabrics remained relatively heavy throughout.
The woven leather bags in an array of muted colours will most definitely have created a waiting list during their ten minutes of limelight down the catwalk. As for the
Saint Laurentshow, it seemed as though Hedi Slimane was forecasting a chilly Summer come 2015 as all the models were decked out in 90’s inspired sheer tights, along with more leather applique techniques and patchwork suede jackets. If the tone of the show is anything to go by, next summer we will be having an absolute (70’s inspired) ball!
It would be impossible to mention Paris Fashion Week without commenting on the

With Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu still to come, Paris Fashion Week will undoubtedly continue to provide a beautiful array of clothes over the next few days.
