Pirelli have featured a plus size model in their highly-anticipated annual calendar for the first time. Candice Huffine, who is a size 16, features alongside models such as Joan Smalls, Gigi Hadid and Karen Elson in the brand's racy 2015 calendar, styled by fashionista Carine Roitfeld. Renowned fashion photographer Steven Meisel shot the calendar, a first for the American icon, and chose the models who starred, picking Candice, with whom he has worked before. Photo: Steven Meisel "I think that it is obviously extremely exciting," Candice told New York about being the calendar's first plus size model. "I'm so happy that I can say that's it me. It signifies so much and is such a bold and brilliant move on Pirelli and Meisel's part." "It's their understanding: they know that sexy can be in different shapes and sizes," she added. "They're willing to take the risk and do something new. It's just overwhelming in the best of ways." The 30-year-old revealed that while she had worked to get in shape for the exclusive calendar, this was part of her regular routine. Candice Huffine is Pirelli's first plus size model to feature in the calendar "I was working out the night before Pirelli, just as I would normally," she admitted. "I'm convinced that my workout routine is not probably that dissimilar from any of the other models'. We run, we eat really healthy, and we're not opposite in that way just because our sizes are different." The striking beauty revealed that despite being turned away from agencies when she was younger, she has found a way of navigating the industry and embrace her curvaceous figure. "I don't know any differently," she told the Telegraph. "I'm navigating a career and I'm really proud of myself being the size that I am. I haven't made any compromises, yet one year tops the next. I don't see it as advantage, I'm just grateful that I've got to do it on the terms that I have."
