Instagram launches Emoji updates and three new filters

Emoji fans rejoice – Instagram is letting us take our love for the cute emoticons a step further by allowing searchable emojis in hashtags. This means that you can add them to your posts, search for them on the Explore page and tap on them in captions. Instagram has done some research into the most popular emojis across the globe. The 'crying with laughter' emoji takes the top spot, followed by 'love heart eyes' and 'kissing' in second and third place respectively. Here is the top ten:

They also identified the celebrities who are using emojis the most on Instagram, with model Gisele Bundchen named as number one. The other biggest celebrity fans are Demi Lovato, Beyoncé, Madonna, Karlie Kloss, Nicki Minaj, Reese Witherspoon and Alicia Keys.

The new Juno filter

Instagram has also unveiled three new filters: Lark, Reyes and Juno. Lark de-saturates reds while punching up blues and greens to bring your landscape to life; Reyes adds a dusty vintage feel to your shot and is inspired by the rugged coast of Point Reyes, California, while Juno tints cool tones green while making warm tones pop and whites glow for vibrant photos.

In December 2014, Instagram released five new filters. New additions Ludwig and Crema quickly became the most popular filters on Instagram. Amaro comes in third place, which Valencia and X-Pro II take second and third place respectively.
