"Working with Gigi Hadid on this campaign continues to strengthen our international vision for the Topshop brand," Sir Philip Green said in a statement when Gigi's images were first released.

"We are continually developing our footprint across all markets with ambitious plans both in the UK and internationally and I feel like Gigi is an ideal ambassador to underpin these efforts."

The rising star follows in the footsteps of Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn, all of whom have previously fronted campaigns for Topshop.

The star recently opened up about her experiences in the modelling industry

While nowadays she's walking for major designers and fronting campaigns for Maybelline and Tom Ford, Gigi recently revealed that the path to her success hasn't always been easy.

"When I first went to visit different agencies in New York, a lot of them were like, you have to lose a lot of weight," she told Daily Mail Australia.

“I would cry at night and my mom [Yolanda Foster] would be like, “We’re going to find the [right] people."

Not willing to change her body shape, Gigi eventually signed with IMG Models and was quick to make a name for herself in the industry. "It’s funny because once you start to embrace what you have, it starts to be what you’re known for," she said.
