Alexis Knox has dressed the world's biggest stars from Rita Ora to Miley Cyrus, but the stylist and fashion DJ reveals that when it comes to fashion, there is one celebrity she can't stop admiring. "Kim Kardashian is nailing it," she revealed exclusively to HELLO! Fashion. "She's wearing crowd-pleasing outfits and rarely getting it wrong." As she becomes the official HTC Desire EYE selfie stylist, Alexis reveals which celebrity client she's had most fun working with, as well as her tips for taking the perfect selfie… Scroll below for the full interview…

Alexis says Kim Kardashian is the best-dressed celebrity

Who has been the most fun to work with? I've been styling people for nine years including Little Mix, Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus, Misha B, Jessie J and even Bruno Mars. It's super fun because they're very pop and don't take themselves too seriously. One of the most fun artists is Miley Cyrus because we always have fun and take selfies! Who has been the most creative celebrity to work with? I really enjoyed working with Rita Ora. She's such a powerful young woman and she has great ideas and style. She is definitely someone who has fun and doesn't let herself be tied down by trends and fashion, she just goes with it. Who do you think is the best-dressed celebrity? I have to say Kim Kardashian. She is currently playing it safe by wearing mostly black, white and beige, but it's a phase. I'm very excited to see what her next move is. If I could dress her, I'd definitely avoid neutral shades and take her out of her new comfort zone. She's being a lot more fashion forward, she's becoming more avant-garde, taking risks and being embraced as a major fashion force.

What do you think about Kanye West styling her? I love that they have been open about how he has styled her – it shows the strength in their relationship, that she admires him so much. He takes a lot of risks with fashion which is brilliant. It's so empowering for men, that they can embrace fashion and have an opinion. If you could style any celebrity in the world, who would it be and why? I would love to style Madonna, I've been observing her style since forever. I love that she used to constantly change up her style, but at the moment she seems locked in a certain look she's been in for a long time. I'd love to help her reinvent herself again! Have you had any disasters when dressing a celebrity for an event? It's often that someone is dressed, then they have a quick coffee before the red carpet and next thing you know, there's coffee on the dress. If you spill something, don't use a baby wipe – that's the worst thing to do because they have oils that lock in the stain. I use Johnson's baby shampoo on a clean sponge and gently manipulate the area.

What are your top three tips for the perfect selfie? 1. Know your light. We don't get many sunny days so whenever there's sun we run out and take a selfie, but that's often the worst idea. Don't be in direct sunlight or shade, a really nice even lighting is always the most flattering. 2. Know your angles. Often people think one side is more flattering than the other. I think a modelling, chin up 45 degree angle is what suits most people the best. 3. Be confident and have fun. Just go with it – it's only a selfie, it's there to be entertaining for you and your friends to enjoy. Do you have a go-to beauty product for selfies? I love a bright lipstick because it's fun and eye-catching. I use Barry M's pink shade 62. I like selfies that say something – there's nothing more boring than just a picture of a gormless face. What do you think is the most common mistake people make when taking a selfie? People just take it too seriously sometimes. They don't have fun and I think it's better to see a happy, fun selfie where you might not look your best, than one that's too serious. Which Instagram filter do you think is the most flattering? When I use my HTC Desire Eye, I don't really need a filter because it has this amazing make-up function that basically touches up your images in the view finder to reflect your make-up. So you can take the photo and not have to worry if your filter will work afterwards.
