Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette is used to a life of luxury including her own maids, silver dinner bowls and made-to-measure Louis Vuitton luggage, but it seems the fluffy feline doesn't need to turn to her famous owner to pay the bills. According to Karl, the white Burmese earned over £2million last year for just two of the jobs she took part in.

"She did two jobs and made three million euros last year," the designer told The Cut as he arrived in New York to present his latest Metiers d'Art collection for Chanel. "One was for cars in Germany and the other was for a Japanese beauty product." "I don't allow her to do foodstuffs and things like that," he revealed. "She's too sophisticated for that. She has something unique." It's undeniable that Choupette is no ordinary house cat. Not only does she have over 52,000 followers on the Instagram account in her name, but she also created a capsule beauty collection with cosmetics giant Shu Uemura, aptly naming the collaboration Shupette.

The adorable cat has also proved to be a muse for Karl, who created a limited edition of clothes and accessories for his eponymous line inspired by his pet. The Monster Choupette collection featured a cartoon version of 'the most famous cat in the world' baring her teeth and seemingly throwing a diva-style strop. The tongue-in-cheek range included T-shirts, sweaters, bags, purses and shoes. Choupette has also posed for Chanel's creative director for the book he released dedicated to her called Choupette: The Enchanted Life of a Fashion Cat. The light-hearted project saw her feature in special images with supermodels Laetitia Casta and Linda Evangelista in front of glamorous Parisian backdrops.
