Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are taking their label The Row to Paris. The stylish siblings have revealed that their label's Spring/Summer 2016 catwalk presentation will take place in the French capital city for Fashion Week this year, instead of New York where they have previously been hosting the show.

The Olsen twins are taking their label to Paris Fashion Week

The news comes as a surprise to fashion insiders as there are only two weeks to go before New York Fashion Week – and last week, the Council of Fashion Designers of America confirmed the final line-up in the Big Apple, which included The Row.

However, it's not the first time that the former Two of a Kind actresses have made a last-minute decision to change the location of their show – their Spring 2011 presentation was also moved from New York to Paris with just a few weeks to go before Fashion Month.

Although further details of the show have yet to be revealed, fashionistas will no doubt be clambering to get their hands on a ticket.

The pair picked up the Womenswear Designer of the Year prize at the 2015 CFDA awards

It's been a successful year for the Olsen twins, who picked up the Womenswear Designer of the Year trophy at the 2015 CFDA awards – a year after they took home the prize for Accessories Designer of the Year. The duo also opened their first store in Los Angeles on trendy Melrose Place last May, marking yet another expansion of their successful label.

Mary-Kate and Ashley aren't the only designers who have chosen to show their collection in a new city this year – Riccardo Tisci caused a stir when he revealed that Givenchy would be leaving the Paris schedule and heading to the Big Apple for its Spring/Summer 2016 presentation on 11 September.

"It's a very delicate day for America and so the show is going to be a celebration of family and love," he said. "It gives me so much energy, and I'm very inspired by the culture. I feel free when I'm there."
