David Beckham is one of the world's best-dressed men, and now the handsome football star has revealed his style secrets. Ahead of the launch of his new short film Outlaws with luxury label Belstaff, for whom he has previously created a capsule collection, the 40-year-old opened up about his ultimate wardrobe essential.

David Beckham has revealed a biker jacket is his ultimate essential

'When I started riding bikes in LA I came across the coolest Belstaff jacket in a vintage store and it is still one of my favourites," he told the Metro. "A biker jacket has that fantastic mix of being something really functional and protective, while also looking great and effortlessly cool."

It seems that David is also inspired by fashion icon wife Victoria Beckham's world-famous minimalist style, as the father-of-four added that when it comes to buying clothes her prefers to "keep it simple".

It’s been a particularly stylish week for David, who hit New York Fashion Week to support Victoria as she unveiled the latest collection for her eponymous line. Celebrating his wife's success, the sports icon shared a photo of the show's finale with his 11.8 million Instagram followers.

David celebrated his wife's success, posting a photo on Instagram of the finale from the front row, where he was sat with the couple's eldest son Brooklyn. "Amazing show @victoriabeckham," he proudly wrote in the snap photo shared with his 12 million Instagram followers.

It's not the first time that David has shared his admiration for his wife's successful fashion career. "She's doing something far bigger than what I'm doing," he told The Telegraph when he launched a capsule collection of leather jackets for Belstaff. "Mine is a capsule collection and something that I am 100 per cent involved in, every detail – but Victoria's is a whole other monster."

"She's won the respect of the fashion industry and many other people as well," he added. "My stuff is a lot smaller, and I'm enjoying it, but I don't have the time to do something like she is."
