Karl Lagerfeld once again unveiled a striking new collection for Chanel this week at Paris Fashion Week, with models storming a Chanel airline-themed runway. Now, the designer has revealed that he has no plans to ever leave the French fashion house, and plans to stay "for life".

Karl Lagerfeld has said he will stay at Chanel "for life"

"I think I'm pretty lucky that I can do what I like best in perfect conditions," he told Vogue. "I don’t have to fight with anybody. You know my contracts with Fendi and Chanel are for life? And I don't feel tired at all."

There's no doubt that Karl shows no signs of slowing down.

As well as having designed all the Chanel collections for over 30 years, Karl has his own eponymous label and is also creative director at Italian fashion house Fendi – yet the designer confessed he doesn't struggle to come up with new ideas at each label for all the different Fashion Weeks including haute couture and ready-to-wear.

The designer was joined by Cara Delevingne at the end of his SS16 show on Tuesday

"I never mix them up in my mind," he said, speaking of the different brands. "That is the secret of the story. First of all, I prefer not to analyse why or why not. I have the feeling that when I am doing Fendi I am another person to when I am doing Chanel or my own line.

"I have no personality. I have three. I never ask myself questions. I try to find answers. It's a very pretentious line, no? I am in a way like a machine. I have electronic flashes, it's true."

The designer also revealed that his superhuman-esque work ethic had led someone to contact him asking to test his DNA. "Because they think I'm not normal," he explained, before adding that he had "flatly refused".
