For more than 250 years the ceremony known as Trooping the Colour, which is also Queen Elizabeth's birthday parade, has been the most spectacular event on the British royals' calendar.

The Duchess of Cambridge never disappoints with her elegance on the special day, so here we're taking a look back at all her fashion choices since her debut with the royal family.

2011

For her debut as the Duchess of Cambridge at the annual celebration, the newlywed Kate opted for her wedding dress designer, Alexander McQueen, for her white peplum coat.

2012

An Erdem floral embroidered dress in pale lavender and a gorgeous Jane Corbett hat was Kate's choice as she joined her husband Prince William on the balcony the following year.

2013

A pregnant Kate was pretty in pink in custom Alexander McQueen in 2013 with one of her favourite hats by Jane Corbett.

2014

A custom hat by Jane Taylor topped Kate's brocade Alexander McQueen ensemble in 2014.

2015

A sweet blue floral creation by British designer Catherine Walker and a John Lock and Company hat was the perfect look that year.

2016

Wearing her hair up for the first time at Trooping the Colour, Kate was the vision of happiness with her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte on the Palace balcony. For the occasion, she donned the white Alexander McQueen coat that she previously wore to Charlotte’s christening, and a beautiful Philip Treacy hat with rose detail.
