Disney's Beauty and the Beast has been given a high fashion makeover courtesy of Christopher Kane. The British fashion designer has unveiled a unisex collection of ready-to-wear clothing and accessories all inspired by the iconic film, with rose motifs and shades of red, gold and blue running throughout the collection.

STORY: Emma Watson's ethical tour wardrobe

"I have loved Disney since my childhood and all of the classics, of which Beauty and the Beast is one. It is such a great theme and story, with very iconic characters and a strong female voice," the designer said in a statement. "Looking back at past seasons, our archive was rich with elements that support Beauty and the Beast themes, and we were very much inspired by the film's setting and mood."

Highlights of the collection include a lace dress adorned with red rose petals, and Christopher Kane's signature "lenticular" clutch bag, that has been given a rose-tinted update. And it's likely we may see the film's leading lady Emma Watson in one of the designs very soon, given that the collection is all made from sustainable materials and methods, and has been approved by sustainable brand consultancy Eco-Age. One of the collection's eco-friendly designs includes the "Swiss Rose" lace dress, which was made from custom designed certified Swiss lace, organic silk satin and Italian-produced tulle.

Emma has been committed to only wearing ethical fashion throughout her press tour, and has been showcasing her covetable designer ensembles on a new Instagram account dedicated to the cause. It was recently revealed that when it came to planning the tour wardrobe, Emma created a PowerPoint presentation that her stylist sent to the designers. According to Vanity Fair, the document included a questionnaire about how their garments are produced, their environmental impact and the moral reason why she should wear it on the red carpet.
