Bebe Rexha talks about her career exclusively to HFM

"My single is doing really well, more than anything I have put out before," Bebe enthused about her success to HFM. "I've already had success as a songwriter, but I now feel my fan base is growing; and I think this year is going to be career defining."

Prior to launching her own music career, Bebe worked as a songwriter and penned hits including Eminem and Rihanna's Grammy Award-winning single The Monster. The 27-year-old said the song has benefitted her career, explaining: "At the time [I sold it] I had no money and no record deal, but looking back it has done me a lot of good and got me noticed in the industry."

Bebe's family has always been supportive of her career, with her mum even acting as her first manager for a while. "I’d say she was my first manger, she didn't have any connections, but she was the one that got me into EMI and we met big producers and songwriters," Bebe revealed, adding that her parents were also very protective of her when she embarked on her music career. "At the beginning my dad would say, 'hmm, I don't like you doing this job,' but now they [her mum and her dad] are both really excited and happy."

Now Bebe wants to honour her Albanian heritage, and explained to HFM how she embraces it in her music. "My family are really important to me, and culture is for us. So, I definitely embrace it, even if it is just in the rhythm of the songs – but it is also part of my music and style."
