Autumn Phillips stepped out on the second day or Royal Ascot in a striking embroidery print dress on Wednesday. The ultra-feminine ‘Florence’ dress by British brand Rumour London featured a pretty two-tier pleated skirt in hues of royal blue and cream and scalloped edges. The striking number, which retails at £249 online, looked lovely on Autumn, who is married to the Princess Royal's son Peter Phillips, who completed her look with a show-stopping white fascinator, nude clutch and matching heels.

Beauty-wise, Autumn wore her long, glossy blonde hair up in a sleek ponytail. In terms of make-up, she opted for a subtle outline of black liner around her eyes, a sweep of peach-hued blush and a vibrant pink lip.

And while Autumn certainly ensured that all eyes were on her, on close inspection, it was evident that the 39-year-old’s outfit bore a striking resemblance to the Duchess of Cambridge’s McQueen dress worn during the Royal Tour in Canada back in 2016.

On the second day of the tour, Kate looked stunning in the custom-made design, which also featured a pleated two-tier skirt, white cuffs and an almost identical pattern – just this time in pink. Of course, there were differences. Apart from the designer, Kate’s dress had three quarter length sleeves and cost a rather more purse-pinching £4,000.

As always, Kate looked fabulous in the bespoke design, which she accessorised with a fuchsia clutch and heels and miniature drop earrings. The Duchess wore her long, brown hair down in loose curls, that cascaded past her shoulders and worked a subtle smoky eye make-up wise.

Kate has long been known for her influence in the fashion world which has resulted in the ‘Kate effect’ - whenever she steps out at public events, fans across the world are keen to replicate her look.

Of late, Kate’s two young children, Prince William and Princess Charlotte, have also been having a similar effect. Designers including Amaia Kids, Trotters and Rachel Riley – brands which George and Charlotte have worn – have recently launched their spring/summer collections, with many of their gorgeous pieces having royal links.
