Her romance with Hollywood icon Tom Cruise may appear to have been going through a rough patch in recent months, but professionally Spanish siren Penelope Cruz is still proving a hot property.

The actress is planning to team up with former Police vocalist Sting to make a charity disc in aid of the Sabera Foundation, a project for homeless girls in Calcutta which she has long supported. She is believed to be approaching several other celebrity friends about collaborating on the project.

Pen who denied reports that she'd split with her Vanilla Sky co-star in March, also has a new screen project on the horizon. The 38-year-old Tom recently threw a lavish, Seventies-themed birthday bash for her is to star opposite music legend Bob Dylan in Masked And Anonymous.

The film, based on an unpublished story by Enrique Morales, tells the story of Jack Fate a imprisoned musician brought out of gaol by his former manager to appear in one last charity benefit. Penelope will play the girlfriend of a local hack assigned to cover the concert. The cast also includes veteran actress Jessica Lange, Roseanne star John Goodman and The Royal Tenenbaums' Luke Wilson.

Filming for the Intermedia Films project is due to get underway in Los Angeles this July.
