Supermodel Helena Christensen faces against footballing legend Gary Lineker in the latest advertisement for Walkers Crisps, and scores a major coup. While in the past his foes have suffered a fate worse than death – the loss of their snacks – Helena manages to keep her hands on the goodies.
“It gave me extra satisfaction to be the girl who finally beats Gary at his own game,” says the Danish beauty.
Though Gary suffered defeat for the first time in the series of TV ads, the famed England striker was too distracted by Helena to mind. “It made a very refreshing change to make an ad with one of the world’s most beautiful women instead of Vinnie Jones, Paul Gascoigne or Des Lynam,” he says. “I am not sure she would have felt the same way about me.”
The advert, shot in a field of sunflowers in South Africa, debuts on January 17 in the UK.
