It was a proud day for Cameron Diaz on Monday as the pretty blonde actress was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Cameron, who got her big break in 1994 film The Mask opposite Jim Carey, attributed her success to her parents. Their "eternal" love, she said, had given her "the strength and courage to live this extraordinary life".
She continued: "It is what powers the light that burns inside of me, bright enough for me to be honoured today with this star on the Walk of Fame."
They were poignant words - the 36-year-old star lost her father Emilio to pneumonia in 2008.
Among the hundreds of fans who turned up to watch the ceremony, which took place in front of the Egyptian Theatre on LA's Hollywood Boulevard, were some of Cameron's famous friends and co-stars.
Among them were Charlie's Angels actress Lucy Liu, Tom Cruise - Cameron's love interest in Vanilla Sky - and his wife Katie Holmes.
