Watch a video of the rain-soaked premiere
The stars of Harry Potter braved Monsoon-like conditions this week as they launched the sixth instalment of the boy wizard series in London. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were all caught up in the torrential downpour as they arrived at Leicester Square.
Rupert – who has recently recovered from Swine Flu – had his own Singing In The Rain moment. The flame-haired star, who plays Ron Weasley in the movie, did an impromptu dance as a security guard held an umbrella above him.
Daniel and Emma – chic in a vintage dress by Seventies designer Ossie Clark – also swapped their broomsticks for brollies, though in Daniel's case it seemed a bit too late. He was soaked through and through.
In Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, evil Lord Voldermort threatens the entire wizard community, and even the Hogwarts Academy is no longer safe. It's down to Harry and Professor Dumbledore to save the day.
Many of the cast wore white ribbons on their wrists in memory of murdered actor Rob Knox, who died following a knife attack in London last May. His last scenes as Marcus Belby appear in the film.
Tim Burton's partner Helena Bonham Carter, who plays a Death Eater in the film, drew interest for her choice of accessories at the launch. The actress finished off her quirky ensemble with a bag in the shape of a fairytale castle.
Stars bringing their kids to see the film – which contains the first kiss of Emma and Rupert's characters - included Guy Ritchie, who brought along his and Madonna's son Rocco. TV chef Jamie Oliver also attended with wife Jools and two of their daughters Poppy and Daisy.
