Mixed emotions as Angelina leaves behind Brad and babies to visit Iraq

hellomagazine.com Angelina Jolie tore herself away from partner Brad Pitt and their six children, including twins, Knox and Vivienne, who recently turned one, to show her support for Iraqi refugees this week.

On a day of mixed emotions, the Hollywood leading lady visited four families who are living in a camp for displaced people in the Abu Ghraib neighbourhood, just west of Baghdad.

One little boy brought a smile to her face, no doubt, reminding her of Knox' brothers, Maddox, who's nearly eight, and five-year-old Pax, five, with his cheeky boyish demeanour.

But the actress was brought to the edge of tears as parents told of their difficulties in accessing healthcare and education for their youngsters

"It takes a lot of strength for you to survive this life," a visibly moved Angelina told one refugee. "I don't know if I would be strong enough to survive this."

This is the third visit for the star, a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations, and she vowed to return.

"I want to come back and find you in a better place and in a different situation," she said.

"We hope that the (UN's refugee agency) and the government will support you in getting a piece of land. You need help not because you are poor, but because you are the future of Iraq."
