Is Michelle Dockery leaving Downton Abbey?

Downton Abbey has lost some of its leading stars in the past - but Michelle Dockery isn't going to be one of them.

The actress, who has starred as Lady Mary Crawley since the hit drama began in 2010, has vowed to remain "'til the end".

Michelle Dockery says she will remain at Downton "til the end"

Michelle, 32, spoke to Hollywood Reporter about the recent rumours she is leaving Downton.

"It amuses me more than anything because it's all speculation, and I think it's down to the fact the show has such a popularity," she said. "But no, I'm here 'til the end, whenever that may be."

The star also revealed how the cast keep from getting bored during long days on set at Highclere Castle. "Playing Wink Murder - that helps at dining room table scenes," she said, referring to the popular parlour game.

"There's also the movie game. Someone names a film and you name an actor in that film, and it passes on. It's great fun when we're all here together."

Downton Abbey season five returns to UK TV screens later this year. No-one is more surprised to be appearing in it than Allen Leech - former chauffeur Tom Branson, whose wife Lady Sybil died during childbirth during season three.

Allen Leech will be back for the fifth season of the series

"I only signed up for three episodes," Allen told the magazine. "When I finished the job, I wondered whether he'd be brought back. But he grew in season two and again in season three, because of Sybil's death."

Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes, meanwhile, spoke about the show's huge appeal. "It was perfect for the zeitgeist," he said. "The Western world's financial picture has been so worrying that there was need to believe that the world was once a simpler place, when lunch and dinnertime were sacred."

Richard E Grant will be one of the new faces on the show for the upcoming season

Season five will see a few new faces join the cast, including Sue Johnston, as the Dowager Countess's lady maid Denker. Richard E Grant is appearing as art historian Simon Bricker - and has already shared a few photos from the set of his in his new role.
