Strictly Come Dancing was back with a bang on Sunday night as the 12th series of the show returned to BBC1.

The star-studded line-up, which includes The Saturdays' Frankie Bridge, singer Pixie Lott, EastEnders star Jake Wood and Masterchef judge Gregg Wallace, eagerly awaited to find out which dancing professional they had been paired with.

Tess Daly and her new co-host Claudia Winkleman then revealed the partnerships as they begin their training before hitting the dance floor for the first time on 26 and 27 September.

"I am absolutely buzzing!" said Mark Wright on finding out he was paired with Karen Hauer. "Every single morning we go in, Karen is always smiling – she's so kind and I need someone who isn't going to be too harsh, someone friendly and patient!"

Adventurer and TV presenter Steve Backshall seemed equally as pleased to be partnered with Ola Jordan.

"I have a friend who’s a dancer," he said. "She said to me 'You want Ola because she's a fantastic dancer and she can make anyone look good' meaning ‘even you’!"
