Conventional wisdom tells us that we should put the past behind us? But why? Would it not make more sense to put it in front of us so that we can keep an eye on it? The past is as consistent as a chameleon, and as trustworthy as a politician. It answers its questions according to who happens to be doing the asking and what it suspects they want to hear. History is about to rewrite itself once more. You will soon discover that you have not been quite where you thought you were and thus you are not going quite where you imagined.

Emily Deschanel made her debut in 1994 film It Could Happen To You but then took several years off to study at Boston University.

In 2002 she starred in Stephen King's Red Rose before also starring in Oscar-nominated Cold Mountain, and being named an actress to watch.

It was in 2005 though when Emily found success as the lead in Fox's hit TV show Bones. She starred as Dr. Temperance Brennan, a forensic anthropologist and kinesiologist, alongside Buffy The Vampire Slayer star David Boreanaz.

The show was loosely based on Kathy Reichs, a forensic anthropologist who turned to writing crime novels which featured Dr. Brennan.

The show has been Emmy-nominated and is still running after nine years.

Emily is a vegan and passionate animal welfare supporter. She has collaborated with PETA and also starred alongside Alyson Hannigan, Jaime King and others in a comedy sketch promoting regular breast cancer screenings.

The actress married her husband David Hornsby in 2010, and the pair have one son, three-year-old Henry.
