We had all better be ready for tomorrow because it is undoubtedly coming. Or so many philosophers feel. But what if it is already here? What if it turned up yesterday and sneaked sideways into our lives while we were looking in another direction? What if we are now scanning the horizon, looking for signs of an advancing armada that has actually already quietly joined our fleet? You have been waiting for some while for a coming change. By 2001 Jena had gained legal emancipation from her mother, and had graduated to leading roles, including appearing alongside  Jake Gyllenhaal in cult classic Donnie Darko.

She also began her first foray into producing films and ventured into a stage career
, making her Broadway debut in the Tony award-winning play, Doubt.
