Peter Andre made his dancing debut in the kick-off episode of Strictly Come Dancing, which brought plenty of sequins and stars to the silver screen on Saturday evening. The Mysterious Girl singer proved he is a force to be reckoned with on the dancefloor as he showcased his moves to Jess Glynne's Hold My Hand in the group routine for the episode's grande finale.
Already a favourite to win – Peter was the bookies' favourite when he was confirmed in the line-up in mid-August – the singer’s dancing partner has officially been confirmed. He will be perfecting his moves with Janette Manrara.
It was announced that former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote would be moving and shaking alongside Sicilian newcomer Giovanni Pernice, while Loose Women star and singer Jamelia will dance alongside Irish dancer Tristan MacManus.
Newly-single Call The Midwife star Helen George will put her best foot forward with Aljaz Skorjanec.
Ola Jordan looked delighted to be paired with athlete Iwan Thomas, while Countryfile presenter Anita Rani appeared equally thrilled to be teaming up with new pro Gleb Savchenko. Ainsley Harriott, meanwhile, was paired with Strictly professional Natalie Lowe.
As contestants prepare to go head-to-head to take home the coveted Glitterball trophy, Peter has opened up about the pressure of being a favourite to win.
"That's the worst pressure," he told Radio Times earlier this week. "It's so nice [but the odds will] all change as soon as we start dancing. People will watch and they’ll go, 'that person’s good, that person’s alright.' And even if you’re good at one style of dancing…"
The Australian singer is certainly making sure he's in with a chance to win - he revealed to HELLO! that he had been honing his dancing skills by watching clips of Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, the Nicolas Brothers and Sammy Davies Junior.
