From John Lewis's Buster the Boxer to Sainsbury's Dave the devoted Dad, this year's supermarkets, department stores and other high street chains pulled out all the stops for their annual Christmas TV adverts.

In first place was Marks and Spencer! The retail powerhouse scooped 32 per cent of votes, winning viewers with their clip of Mrs Claus giving Santa a helping hand with delivering gifts.
John Lewis, the most hotly anticipated advert each year, followed in second place with 29 per cent of votes. The department store swapped the Man on the Moon for Buster the Boxer this Christmas.
Heathrow's utterly heart-warming story of two little bears ranked third with 12 per cent of votes, followed by supermarkets Waitrose and Sainsbury's with 11 per cent and eight per cent respectively.
