The Voice UK contestant Lawrence Hill has revealed he was "horrified" to learn that he managed to survive the blind audition after coach will.i.am accidentally pressed his button. On Saturday, viewers saw the Black Eyed Peas musician press his button by mistake after he started to doodle on his buzzer with a black marker pen. Appearing on Good Morning Britain this week, hopeful Laurence confessed he wasn't pleased with the awkward situation.

"It did wind me up a little bit, you can probably see that in the clip," he admitted. "But at the end of the day, it's mission accomplished, isn't it? I went there to do the job. I sing and write music for my job so that was like, 'I've achieved what I want to achieve here, no matter what.'" He elaborated further: "I was horrified, absolutely horrified. Imagine going up for an awards ceremony after winning presenter of the year, they call your name, you go up there and they say, 'Oh, we meant to call out Piers Morgan's name instead.'"

The Voice UK's Lawrence Hill has said he was 'horrified' after will.i.am picked him by mistake

The Voice judges look unrecognisable in these flashback pictures

When asked if he makes it to the next round, the aspiring singer refused to give away any spoilers. "We have a good repertoire and a good chat," he added. "No spoilers for the next episode that I'm in but we have a nice chat - we need to clear the air. I get the impression he wanted to forget about it because he's had a bit of a ribbing over the whole thing, hasn't he?"

Meanwhile, will.i.am recently ruffled some feathers when he revealed to his fellow coaches that he "peeked" at a singer from his chair. The star told them: "I peeked once. I was asked to not peek." To which a surprised Jennifer Hudson remarked: "You can't peek though. That's not how it goes… I'm not ever tempted to peek, because I want to hear the voice."

Gavin Rossdale: Ten things you need to know

Along with will.i.am, judges Jennifer Hudson, Sir Tom Jones and Gavin Rossdale continue their search for the nation's next singing superstar. This year's winner will be given a life-changing record contract with Polydor Records. The Voice UK returns to ITV on Saturday at 8pm.
