Robert Downey Jr showers his wife with kisses at Iron Man 3 premiere —but Gwyneth Paltrow misses out

There's no doubt who Robert Downey Jr's leading lady is. The Iron Man 3 star was overcome with passion at the film's Leicester Square premiere, and couldn't resist kissing his wife Susan as the happy couple walked the red carpet together.To the delight of his London fans, Robert, 48, was seen showering Susan with affection at the screening. Husband and wife — who welcomed their son Exton in February 2012 — received a very warm welcome as they arrived for the Iron Man 3 premiere, Robert looking cool as ever in a tailored suit that he paired with Gucci trainers.

Producer Susan, who met Robert on the set of 2003 film Gothika and married him two years later, opted for a more conventional look, wearing a beautiful long black gown. Of course, how wife wasn't the only lady bringing glamour to the event. British actress Rebecca Hall pulled out all the stops on her home turf on Thursday evening. The star, who is dating director Sam Mendes, looked elegant in a plunging Lanvin jumpsuit and heels, her hair pulled back from her face in a tight bun and wearing a dash of bright red lipstick.The Vicky Cristina Barcelona beauty, 30, is a new addition to the popular Iron Man franchise, and said she decided to take on the "strong female character" because she had "never done the 'hurry up and wait' movie before".

"Even the studio movies I've done have been small studio movies, or indie films that we made on a wing and a prayer," she said. "I love those, but Iron Man is refreshing in a way because it's something out of my realm of experiences. "Noticeably absent from the premiere was the film's other female lead, Gwyneth Paltrow. The London-based actress instead make a dazzling appearance at the star-studded Tiffany & Co Blue Book Ball in New York.Joining Robert and Rebecca on the red carpet were their co-stars, Don Cheadle and Sir Ben Kingsley, who plays a mysterious criminal named The Mandarin.British stars including Dermot O'Leary, Oritsé Williams and J.B. Gill from JLS and Holby City's Tom Chambers also attended the premiere.
