Hoping to wow the panel of judges, arcade attendant, Charlie Brown took to the mic, wowing with Ed Sheeran's Give Me Love. "Take that seat,” said Mel B as the 23-year-old took the final seat on the stage. 17-year-old, Jack Walton then took to perform with a modern take on Chaka Khan’s Ain’t Nobody.

"If you own this, I might have to switch somebody out," warned Mel B before the crowd clapped along to his rendition of the 80s hit. Mel B then surprisingly swapped Jack for Charlie Martinez, as Wembley arena booed her decision.

With the tension rising, Hayden Leeman walked onto the stage, prepared to fight for a place at judges' houses with a performance of Joan Jett’s I Love Rock and Roll.

"I like you…you’re different. But that wasn’t a great performance," said Simon while Mel disagreed and deliberated who to swap the student for. In the end, she decided to swap him for Charlie Brown. Next to the stage was Italian student, Andrea Faustini, who sang Whitney Houston’s I Didn’t Know My Own Strength. “I felt every single word you said. You meant it." praised Cheryl as she broke down into tears, before Simon called his performance a “stunning vocal.

”As the crowd chanted "swap" Mel B had the tough decision to swap the singer for Hayden.

Last to take to the stage was pub singer, Paul Akister, who was kicked out of Louis Walsh’s judges’ houses last year.

Following his performance of Otis Redding's These Arms Of Mine, Mel B was blown away and swapped Geoff’s place for Paul.

With Mel having chosen her six acts to take to judges’ houses, next to choose their category’s fate was Simon Cowell. First to take a seat on the stage was Kisela Berice, whose performance of Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror impressed the music mogul. With nerves building, Scarlett Quinn took to the stage and forgot the words to Duran Duran’s Ordinary World in front of the 5,000 strong crowd and, as a result, was sent home.

Waiting back stage, Ben Haenow was next to audition for the second chair on the stage with his rendition of the Eagles’ Hotel California.

Oozing confidence, the van driver stunned the crowd with his gritty voice and was immediately given a seat with Kisela.

Next to the stage was 31-year-old, Raign, who opted to sing Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game.

"I just found it all a bit strange," commented Mel as Simon described the songwriter as ‘marmite’- “you either love it or you hate it,” before giving her the third seat on the stage.

“I’m literally allergic to her,” joked Cheryl, unimpressed with Simon’s decision. Stevie Ritchie then danced the way through his performance of Dirty Dancing’s I’ve Had The Time Of My Life, before picking up a girl from the audience to dance with him.
